Earlier this week Rage Against the Machine launched a new mysterious website that features a clock counting down. The phrase #TakeThePowerBack can be seen above a space prompting visitors to submit their e-mail address. Other than that, there aren’t too many other details on the site.

With very few details, it left fans to assume that an upcoming reunion tour or album was inevitable. However, it doesn’t seem like that is exactly the case. According to reports from BillboardRage Against the Machine is actually in the process of forming quite the unexpected supergroup alongside Public Enemy and Cypress Hill. It seems safe to say that this is a much bigger comeback than fans could have dreamed of.

Rage’s guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk will be joining Cypress Hill’s B-Real and Chuck D of Public Enemy to form a supergroup they’re calling Prophets of Rage (the same name of that mysterious website). Unfortunately, Rage’s lead vocalist Zack de la Rocha is not expected to be part of this new venture.

Prophets of Rage are due to make their debut on stage at the Hollywood Palladium on June 3, followed by an upcoming show at Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles. As of right now, there are no details of a full tour but once the countdown comes to an official end, fans are sure to get more of the answers they’re looking for.
