Earlier this week, Billboard announced that Madonna will be honoring Prince at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards on May 22. Despite the fact that the event organizers had promised that it would be “one of the highlights of this year’s BBMAs,” there’s a select group who does not want to see this happen.

A new Change.org petition has demanded that there must be changes made to the tribute, saying that fans “cannot let Madonna be the main and only artist tributing Prince during the 2016 Billboard Awards” and suggesting that Prince is “more worthy of a better choice as a main performer.”

The petition, which requires 5,000 signatures, has already gained 2,716 supporters despite only having been created yesterday (May 13). Petition signees have suggested that they would want to see such artists as Lenny Kravitz, Mint Condition, Sheila E, Chaka Khan, D’Angelo, The Roots, perform the tribute instead.

Prince and Madonna collaborated on Madonna’s 1989 classic, Like A Prayer. Prince played the guitar on “Like a Prayer,” “Keep It Together,” and “Act of Contrition,” though Prince remained uncredited. The two also worked together on the single “Love Song.”

This year’s Billboard Music Awards will air live at 8 pm EST on Sunday, May 22 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Ludacris and Ciara will be co-hosting the event. Take a look at the Change.org petition here.
