Before the official May 27 release of Flume’s sophomore album Skin, the Australian producer decided to play the whole project to fans for the first time on Facebook Live this afternoon.
Stacked with an all-star list of features including Allan Kingdom, Raekwon, Vince Staples, Vic Mensa, Little Dragon, and Beck, the project was accompanied by a set of abstract visuals and a brief Q&A with the electronic producer. A slightly disoriented Flume kicked off the listening session with the brief introduction: “Well, this is the last three years of my life.”
After the session, several of the collaborators called in via Skype, highlighted by a brief appearance by Staples who jokingly mentioned, “I forgive you for not putting me on the cover of the album.”
