Prince was a musical guest on Saturday Night Live in 1981, 1989, 2006, and 2014, and was the subject of several Fred Armisen impressions. Now, the show will pay tribute to one of its sources of inspiration with a clip show memorializing the deceased entertainment legend.

The special, titled SNL Goodnight Sweet Prince, airs tonight at 11:30 p.m. For the record, Prince was a big fan of comedy: He previously showed his own funny bone when he used a photo of Dave Chappelle impersonating him as a single cover, and he said in a 1999 interview with Chris Rock, “Comedians had a great deal of an impact on my music, I think. It was always a challenge to have some sort of humor in a song and to make somebody feel good. That is the biggest challenge.”

Watch a sketch from 2012 in which Armisen portrays Prince below, as well as his 8-minute set from 2014.
