Nas Previews "The Sickness" With J Dilla at SXSW

Yesterday evening, Nas treated the audience at Mass Appeal’s SXSW event to the preview of another unreleased collaboration with the late J Dilla (the previous one being “The Season”). As with the “The Season,” “The Sickness” is exactly how you would expect two seasoned vets coming together over production courtesy of Madlib to sound, and to hear Nas and Dilla trade verses only reminds us of how the latter was gone too soon.

“The Sickness,” according to the video, will end up on Dilla’s upcoming long lost vocal album, The Diary, due April 15 via Mass Appeal. The project will feature production from Dilla himself, Madlib, Pete Rock, House Shoes, Karriem Riggins, and other, as well as guest features from Snoop Dogg, Bilal, and more.

Nas has reportedly been working on his twelfth studio album since the release of Life is Good. If we’re lucky, we may hear Nas on some Kanye beats soon if ‘Ye upholds his promise to Obama.
