Watch Hannibal Buress and Kendrick Lamar in BJ the Chicago Kid's "The New Cupid" Video

The video for BJ The Chicago Kid’s standout Kendrick Lamar-assisted “New Cupid” was always destined to be a special one. The hilariously jaded love song is full of character and anything Kendrick touches generally turns to gold. Then BJ outdid himself and added Hannibal Buress to the equation.

“BJ was telling me how the video was missing one piece,” Buress told Rolling Stone. “It was me. I came into the picture and made this project whole. The cherry on top. The final stroke of the paintbrush on a masterpiece. A lot of people have been asking about my compensation for this project. BJ paid me in a lifetime subscription to Tidal and three ghostwritten 13-bar verses about any subject matter of my choosing. Stay blessed.”

We can’t argue with the results. The Matt Barnes-directed clip is one of the most entertaining videos of the year so far.

“The video shoot was a spiritual experience,” Buress adds. “We’re gonna change lives with this one.”
