Yeezy season is upon us, and later today Kanye West is expect to premiere his long-awaited new album, The Life of Pablo. With Yeezy fever high among us all, Pitchfork has managed to track down a quietly released remix of Kanye’s “Blood on the Leaves” by none-other than Nicolas Jaar. Soundtracking a documentary about artist Barbara Kruger, the remix can be heard quietly in the background, with Jaar bringing his distinct style to Kanye’s bombastic original track.
The documentary initially premiered at SXSW last year, with it previously commissioned for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Kruger herself requested Kanye’s music accompany the piece, and the resulting remix by Jaar was born. The documentary was directed by Pippa Bianco and produced by Ways & Means.
