Last month, Australian producer Flume shared “Never Be Like You,” a shimmering new collaboration with Kai from his upcoming album, Skin. As one of his prettiest tracks to date, “Never Be Like You” has us super-excited about what he’s cooking up for his next full-length. Now he’s shared the intimate, warped video for the track. Directed by Clemens Habicht, the video follows “the story of an emotional state,” says the director.
Further expanding, he say it’s meant to represent a “delicious euphoric that motivates the sort of mistakes that precede remorse.” It’s an incredibly well shot video, and the warping effects suit the stretchy sounds of the track itself perfectly. Habicht added, “In a confused state a girl loses control as she gives in to a delirious beautiful and grotesque abandon that blurs the boundaries between reality, sensation and perception as the world she is in melts away.”
