Erykah Badu has been slowly but surely rolling out new music for all of her fans to enjoy. Last month she shared a remix of Drake’s “Hotline Bling”, and soon followed that up with “Phone Down,” the first single from her upcoming mixtape But You Cain’t Use My Phone.
With her mixtape due out on November 27, Badu recently stopped by Power 105’s The Breakfast Club to discuss new music, hosting the upcoming Soul Train Awards, relationships, children, and more. However, the interview took an interesting twist when Jay Electronica stopped by to make sure no one (specifically Charlamagne) said anything disrespectful to Ms. Badu.
When asked about new music, Jay Electronica deflected the question by responding: “I’m only here as security for the mother of my daughter.” Badu, on the other hand, responded for Jay by jokingly saying that he won’t be releasing an album until she says so.
