Brooklyn’s Richie Quake has been making futuristic bedroom R&B for a while now, and his latest might just be his finest piece of work to date. Building on from 2012’s Sound Of Return EP as well as 2013’s Visions, Richie’s latest, In Love N’ Memory, features his slickest and most grandiose production work yet. More polished, but just as fragmented and addictive as anything found on 2013’s Visions, Richie is capping off 2015 in the best way possible with In Love N’ Memory.

The sentimental collection of six songs come soaked in nostalgia for lost love, with smooth instrumentals as forward-thinking as they are throwback. Soft synth stabs, twinkling flourishes, and organ-like tenderness sum up the consistently strong production on the project. Richie’s distinct voice make it known that no one except him could be behind these songs, with his tonally strong but frequently fragile voice often stealing the show in spite of his understated delivery.

Collecting previous singles “4 U I Care” and “Slow Down,” In Love N’ Memory is Richie’s strongest collection of songs so far. Whether it’s the nostalgic swing of “Worth,” or the gorgeously vulnerable closer “Brushstrokes,” In Love N’ Memory proves that Richie incapable of disappointing. Richie will play a show at Palisades in Brooklyn on 11 December, get tickets here. Listen to the premiere of In Love N’ Memory below, or purchase it here.
