Noel Gallagher of Oasis isn’t exactly known for keeping his mouth shut, usually finding something to speak his mind about, with the results often sounding unfiltered to say the least. In a new interview with Esquire for their upcoming December issue, Gallagher sat down with the magazine to discuss a number of things on his mind, and what he had to say about One Direction was pretty scathing.
“I’ll tell you what’s wrong, fame’s wasted on these cunts today,” he boldly said. In the interview he took issue with One Direction in particular: “Does anybody give a fuck about what any of these current pop stars are up to? Who gives a shit what fucking One Direction do? Cocksuckers, all of them in rehab by the time they’re 30.” His comments didn’t stop there, either, with him claiming that “Harry Styles has got nothing to say for himself.”
As the interview went on, Gallagher went all out with his comments, bringing Adele into the equation. “Who gives a shit what Ellie Goulding is up to? Really? Adele, what? Blows my fucking mind. It blows my fucking mind. Nobody cares! Fame’s wasted on them, with their fucking in-ear monitors and their electronic cigarettes. And their fragrances that they’re bringing out for Christmas. You fucking dicks.”
Despite all his comments, he surprisingly had nice things to say about Kanye West. “You watch him on the MTV Awards and you think, ‘You can fucking stay, you’re alright,'” Gallagher said of Kanye, who he says deserves his fame. Read the whole interview here.
