If you’re not a country fanatic, you probably missed Justin Timberlake’s performance at the CMA Awards a few weeks ago. During the show, he sang a countrified version of his 20/20 track “Drink You Away” with country star Chris Stapleton. The duet was one of the biggest moments of the night and caused a lot of people to wonder if country was the next move for Timberlake.

Well, Timberlake’s frequent collaborator Timbaland isn’t really doing much to squash those rumors. During a recent interview with TMZ, Timb was asked if a country album was in the works after the popularity of the CMA performance. “Now that you put it out there, why not?” Timbaland responded. “We are country. He’s from Tennessee, I’m from Virginia,” he continued. “It’s only right that we try to tap into what we was raised in.”

Damn. Is no genre safe from a JT take-over? Re-watch that CMA performance below.
