Antony Hegarty (of Antony & The Johnsons) is now going by the name ANOHNI, and has an album on the way co-produced in its entirety by Hudson Mohawke and Oneohtrix Point Never alongside Antony herself. The album is called HOPELESSNESS and today we have the first single, “4 Degrees,” shared with the following message:
In solidarity with the climate conference in Paris,
giving myself a good hard look,
not my aspirations but my behaviors,
revealing my insidious complicity.
It’s a whole new world.
Let’s be brave and tell the truth as much as we can.
AHOHNI’s voice is as unique and beguiling as ever, and boy does it sound good over bombastic horns, synths, and clattering, cavernous drums. These three took no prisoners with the production—HOPELESSNESS is set to be a special album. Listen to “4 Degrees” below.
