Sia is back with a new album and today she shares the first single. The album is called This Is Acting, and “Alive” has a pretty awesome backstory. According to Billboard, it was written with Adele and Tobias Jesso Jr. and was originally for Adele’s next album.
On the subject of her new album, Sia told NME earlier this year, “I’m calling it This Is Acting because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn’t go into it thinking, ‘This is something I would say. It’s more like play-acting. It’s fun.”
