George Clinton & Kendrick Lamar Team Up Again on "Ain't That Funkin' Kinda Hard On You?" Remix

Kendrick Lamar and George Clinton team up again for a track even funkier than their first.

Earlier this year, we heard Kendrick Lamar and George Clinton team up for “Wesley’s Theory,” the opening track of Lamar’s recent album To Pimp A Butterfly. The unexpected collaboration bridged the gap between generations and brought two worlds together. Now, the two link up once again, this time for Clinton’s album on a track called “Ain’t That Funkin’ Kinda Hard On You?”

This new collaboration is a revamped version of a track taken from Funkadelic’s 2014 album First Ya Gotta Shake the Gate. Shortly after the single and album were released last year, Louie Vega took the slowed down funk record and sped it up into a club-ready dance track. The remix had a dance breakdown that allowed the perfect space for Kendrick Lamar to fit in a quick verse that adds another layer to the fun single.

Listen to the new remix below.
