This Wednesday and Thursday night, The Tavis Smiley Show will air a two-part special of D’Angelo’s first television interview in over a decade. Tavis and D’Angelo will discuss his beginning as a musician, as well as his widely successful comeback album Black Messiah.
Last year the Red Bull Music Academy Festival included D’Angelo in their lineup. Not for a performance, but instead for an intimate, in-depth conversation with Nelson George and few lucky attendees. Though interviews with D’Angelo are extremely rare, if last year’s hour long discussion was any indication of how the Tavis Smiley interview will be, it will certainly be an entertaining and enlightening watch.
