MTV Claims the Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus Beef Was "100% Real"

MTV is claiming that the Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus beef at the VMAs last night wasn't staged.

In what might be one of the strangest ways to confirm the validity of one of the VMAs’ most talked about moments, an MTV spokesman has confirmed the Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus beef last night was not staged. Why is this strange, you ask? Well, an MTV spokesman confirmed the beef was real to MTV themselves. That’s right, MTV got news from MTV that the thing that happened on MTV was real.

Last night Nicki took shots at Miley after her criticisms were dismissed because they were deemed “aggressive.” Rightfully, Nicki wasn’t too happy with Miley and ended her acceptance speech for Best Hip-Hop Video by saying “Back to this bitch that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press; Miley, what’s good?” Miley quickly responded, dismissing her once again by saying “Hey, we’re all in this industry, we all do interviews and we all know how they manipulate shit.”

The moment was quickly brushed aside and wasn’t dwelled upon. In the news post on their website, MTV said that moment was not a stunt of any kind and that it was unscripted and real. MTV’s own reporters were backstage and also confirmed that it wasn’t planned. Miley and Nicki have yet to say anything about the moment themselves, so we’ll just have to believe MTV News’ reporting of what happened at MTV’s award show for the time being. Watch the moment above.
