In what could easily be the result of an unfortunate joke, news has spread of a month-old metal band inspired by none other than The Simpsons‘ Ned Flanders. Yes, perhaps the squarest character in the history of television is to thank for Okilly Dokilly. The “Nedal” creators, stationed in Arizona, were evidently conjuring up ironic names while in line at a grocery store and landed on this. Bravo.
Let’s hope the actions of this one group don’t spur legions of copycats—the world can only take so much of this before laughs turn to tears. For those unfamiliar with Flanders, a clip is embedded below to reference.
