Watch Amy Winehouse's Advert For Fender Guitars from 2004

The late Amy Winehouse was first introduced to the Fender Stratocaster, perhaps the most storied six-string in modern music, when she was 12 or 13 years old. The instrument struck the singer as special the moment her brother showed it to her.

The legendary artist sat down to open up about the iconic Strat in a series of 2004 promotional videos for Fender. The clips preceded a September concert at Wembley Arena in London.

A highlight? “It’s more that you feel power,” she said, about playing. “I guess it must be akin to having a dick because… I’ve never had a dick obviously. It must be that, when I go on stage and I’ve got a guitar, I feel like no one can touch me.”

Watch the long-forgotten interview above to hear Winehouse talk guitars and strum a few chords.
