Mick Jenkins has been teasing his next release, Wave[s], for a while now. Today we’ve gotten another taste of the long-awaited project with the bouncy “Get Up Get Down,” which promises a worthy follow-up to 2014’s fantastic The Water[s] mixtape. Produced by Stefan Ponce and ThemPeople, the track slowly transitions from its energetic first half, into the more downtempo second half.
Mick has also seen fit to reveal the release plans for Wave[s], which will be out on August 21 via his own Free Nation label, and will be accompanied by paintings by Hayveyah McGowan. Wave[s] will feature production from Kaytranada and Lee Bannon among others. Check out the art for Wave[s] below, and check out the tracklisting below that.
