The video for Toronto producer Deebs and L.A. singer Jarell Perry’s “Driving Blind” features an uncanny black, purple, and blue world created by animator Jason Voltaire. Minimal, surrealistic, and oddly beautiful in spurts, Voltaire’s characterless world comprises lights, flowing curtains, a moving car with no driver, and a haunting bed—all the trappings that Deebs and Perry’s music suggest with none of the flesh and blood, the aftermath of electronic R&B apocalypse. A fitting accompaniment for their drippy, dystopian night time tune.
Deebs & Jarell Perry will meet for the first time and perform their collaborative EP Shift with a string of dates in and around their respective home cities.
