We were first introduced to Kate Boy’s driving, moody synth-pop sound with “In Your Eyes” back in March 2013, and since then the band floated in and out of our consciousness, releasing songs here and there, but never announcing an album.
Well today they have finally announced their debut album, titled ONE, out in November. To accompany the announcement they’ve shared a new song “Midnight Sun,” and it’s one of their boldest, brightest tracks to date. The Stockholm based trio go full pop on the track, produced by Christoffer Berg (The Knife, Fever Ray, Depeche Mode), and it works for them, sitting happily in the tradition of excellent Swedish pop music.
