The last time we heard from Nao, she was lending her lovely voice to the track “Firefly” on Mura Masa’s Someday Somewhere EP. Before then she was sporadically dropping some very impressive tracks that left us wanting more.
Thankfully she’s back, and with a full EP this time. Rather than sharing her new single “Inhale Exhale” just days before announcing her new February 15 EP, she decided to surprise us with both at the same time.
Similar to her previous tracks, this new single has a groove that seems to only get better with each listen. Even with such a sweet and delicate voice, the beat never outshines her—if anything, the two work to heighten the strength of the other. If the new single “Inhale Exhale” is any indication of what to expect on this EP, it was definitely worth the wait.
