After some late 2000s success leading a band called Golden Silvers, Gwilym Gold dropped a stunning, melancholy single on us last year in the form of “Muscle.” He is now planning an album for 2015, called A Paradise, and today he’s sharing three tracks from the record.
The songs are all unembellished, poignant ballads, with Gold’s vocals pulling the listener in, and, on “I know, I Know,” a sweeping string section embellishing proceedings. The cohesive feel of the three songs, not to mention their simlarly slow-moving artwork, suggest that this could be an album that needs to be experienced in one sitting, top to bottom. We can’t wait to hear more.
