Yung Lean had a pretty big year in 2014, and chances are 2015 will be even bigger for the Swedish internet sensation. Kicking off the year with a video for “Diamonds,” his collaborative track with Thaiboy Digital, it’s evident that Lean has bigger aspirations for his visuals at this point. Coming a long way from the surreal Pokémon Stadium-infatuated “Hurt” video, the grandiose video for “Diamonds” finds Thaiboy and Lean trekking over gorgeous snow-covered forests.
Taken from Thaiboy’s Tiger mixtape, “Diamonds” finds the pair flexing their melodic muscles over a melancholy Whitearmor beat, frequently switching between a more somber tone and a more triumphant one. It won’t exactly be for everyone, but for those already on board with Lean, it’s certainly fun to see how far he’s come.
