It’s always great when remixes flip the original entirely, but Star.One’s star-studded (no pun intended) remix of Raleigh Ritchie’s “The Greatest” takes the concept of a remix to its absolute extreme. Flipping the triumphant pop of the original track into a hard grime banger, Star.One’s remix invites Tempa T, Stormzy, and Ghetts to deliver some viciously delivered verses atop the brass heavy production. It’s fun to see how far Star took the original, turning it into a track that’s very much his own.
The remix takes the chanted chorus of the original and turns it into a glitchy hook, changing the tone almost completely. If only every remix ever comissioned took as an extreme a route as this one. Listen to the remix below, and check out the considerably different original below that.
