The Gaye family was awarded $7.3 million today after a California jury found Robin Thicke, Pharrell Williams, and T.I. guilty of infringing on the copyright of Marvin Gaye’s 1977 classic “Got To Give It Up.” After almost a week of testimony, the jury of eight unanimously agreed that the trio had copied parts of “Got To Give It Up” in their 2013 hit “Blurred Lines.”

In a statement to the press after the ruling, Pharrell insisted he “created Blurred Lines from his heart, mind and soul and the song was not taken from anyone or anywhere else.”

Listen to “Got To Give It Up” below, and see if you agree.
