It’s been a pretty big year for Bryan Sammis. Around one year ago today, he left his role as drummer in The Neighbourhood. Since leaving, he began to focus on his solo output as Olivver the Kid, heading off in a different direction to that of his former bandmates. It couldn’t have been an easy decision to make, but it has given us some great music. “Now You Know” was the first song he wrote after leaving the band, and as such it means quite a lot to the canon of his career.
today marks one year.
one year since I’ve talked to 4 of my best friends.
one year since I lost my job.
one year in a prison of my own solitude.
one year since I wrote this song.
