Anyone familiar with South African artist Petite Noir knows that his sound can vary and draws from multiple influences. With each song that he releases, he seems to showcase another trick he had hidden up his sleeve. And each time he proves that he can’t simply be boxed into one style or genre.
His latest single “Shadows” leans more towards an indie rocks sound but with more emphasis on the drums than the guitar. But like all of Petite Noir’s songs, the outstanding factor and the most important instrument on this song is actually his own voice. He’s able to transform his voice to perfectly match the mood and tone of every part of the song. “Shadows” is equally soothing and hypnotic.
“Shadows” is taken from his forthcoming EP The King Of Anxiety which will be released digially on January 19.
