The last we heard from Twin Shadow, he was debuting a new song called “Locked and Loaded” with an acoustic version on the Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast, and now he’s back with another heart-rending epic. Although “Turn Me Up” isn’t quite as grandiose as “To The Top,” it’s just as good, starting off with a spare drumbeat but building up to a couple of those epic, howling at the moon moments that George Lewis Jr. does so well.
He shared the song with the following message:
I think it’s important to let people take what they need from songs instead of explaining too much about what they mean for me personally. But my friends keep asking, ‘Turn me up’, what’s that mean? I keep saying, Take more from me. Ask more of me. Give me more back. Stop fighting against the things you want the most
