Fashion brands are known to create expensive visuals to promote their latest collections of the season, but it’s not so common to see a short film with original music created and sung by the models and actors within the campaign. Chanel has taken a step outside of the ordinary for their latest short film directed by Karl Lagerfeld.
“Reincarnation” stars Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne and was made to accompany the new Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d’art collection. Pharrell and Cara not only star in the film, they also provided the vocals for the featured song. Pharrell wrote and composed “CC The World” specifically for this short film and had Cara sing on it as well.
The film shows the two as servants in an inn throughout the day, passing by paintings that have a striking resemblance to them. And at night, their paintings come to life as they dance and look like royalty. But the best part? Probably when the pair begin to Shmoney dance around the 6:05 mark.
