If you’ve been paying attention, you might already know that Shamir loves country music, and is building a solid catalog of covers of songs from that genre. We filmed Shamir covering Brandy Clark’s “Stripes” on the street in Brooklyn (watch that at the bottom of the page), a Lindi Ortega cover closed out his debut Northtown EP, and now he’s covered Miranada Lambert’s big hit “The House That Built Me” for Rookie Mag.
