Canadian rapper and producer Night Lovell has slowly been building up hype for his debut mixtape, Concept Vague, and it’s easy to see why. Dropped late last night, the intense and menacing mixtape features production from Lovell himself, Bine, and Fifty Grand among others. His enigmatic yet foreboding presence is felt throughout its 45 minute running time, offering a brutalized and distinct style of hip-hop entirely his own. The mix of vibrant sounds and darkened backgrounds works entirely in his favor, providing a vivid soundscape for his low-key but confident cadence.
