Oyinda’s last song, “What Still Remains,” mixed her rich vocals with strings and a pulsating bassline, creating a very current but still deeply primal end product. She’s back today with “The Devil’s Gonna Keep Me,” a darker, moodier track that creeps along with menacing keys and clanking, spare percussion. It’s a soundtrack for tortured souls or painful catharsis, and it’s an exciting look at what this new artist is capable of.
Oyinda was born in Nigeria, raised in London, and currently resides in NYC. Her debut EP is coming soon, but for the meantime check out “The Devil’s Gonna Keep Me” below.
