Nick Koenig has been teasing God’s Hand, his debut solo album as Hot Sugar, for quite a while now. We’ve yet to hear much from him this year, but thankfully “Your Nails Look So Pretty” changes that. It’s not clear whether the track will land on God’s Hand, but it’ll surely tide you over until it arrives.
The bizarre self-directed video for “Your Nails Look So Pretty” provides dreamlike visuals for the serene track, perfectly encapsulating his pretty yet grimy sound. It’s hard to describe his aesthetic, but the video comes about as close as you can to putting an image to his unique production style.
