Daily Discovery is a feature that will highlight a new or recently discovered artist that we’re excited about. See the rest of our Daily Discoveries here.

Last week, British producer Prayer released a fantastic song called “Knowing,” which built a thick and haunting atmosphere around spare drums and a disembodied vocal sample that recalled Burial. Maybe you missed it in the deluge of new music that is spewed on to the internet each day? If so, count yourself lucky to have another chance to get familiar with Prayer, because he is one talented producer.

Proving that “Knowing” was no one-off (which you already knew if you had heard last year’s grandiose “The Two Halves“), Prayer’s new four-track EP—which is also free to download from the player below—reflects his influences Burial, Clams Casino, and the classical composers he studied at university. Each track feels carefully and precisely constructed, with the samples in “Not Over” tugging immediately at your emotions and the six minute epic “Abyss” taking you on journey swooping over the highest mountains and down into the darkest caverns.
