We’ve been hyping Bayou since 2012, when he came seemingly out of nowhere with the gorgeously subtle “Cherry Cola,” and he delivered on that early promise with a cohesive mixtape called Loopback, which dropped in May. Coming from the Loopback sessions, “Speedboat” is another slice of dreamy, soft-focus pop music, tinged with sadness and resting on a bed of gentle keys.
