James Kelly, the legal name of the mastermind behind new pop endeavor WIFE, is back at it again. Shortly after releasing the warped track, “Heart Is A Far Light,” the former black metal band member has dropped his new song, “Tongue.” It’s an ominous follow up that once again flexes his vocal and production prowess. While the mood clings to his metal days—the song is quite dark and slightly foreboding—the vocals are brilliantly soft, drawing you in with ballad like build-ups placed over intensely shaky production.
The introspective number is in advance of his anticipated debut, What’s Between. The album will be released June 10 by the always impressive Tri-Angle Records, don’t miss it.
