Daytrip is a duo from New York. “Flight 43” is the sound of two kids sitting on their rooftop in Alphabet City, dreaming about far away places. Their story begins: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard Flight 43, non-stop service from New York to Kingston, Jamaica.” Bubbling electronics build up, and by the 55-second mark, it’s takeoff. Daytrip may be two kids starting a journey, but their vision is massive, and after three minutes of ambitious powerhouse production, the last minute of comedown is very necessary.
