Lily Allen Admits That Her New Music is "Rubbish"

Lily Allen admitted on Twitter today that her new music is "rubbish."

Have you been underwhelmed by Lily Allen‘s latest material? Turns out you’re not alone. However, your company may surprise you. Today, the British pop star took to Twitter to address her frustrations with her recent output, agreeing with a fan, Reg Wilding, who tweeted at her saying, “@lilyallen’s new music is actually docile pop rubbish. So disappointing. She properly just wrote some rubbish to cash some cheques.”

In response, Allen tweeted back, “@RFWilding what you’ve heard so far yes. All i can do is do my best, the labels and the radio stations won’t play the better stuff.” She continued to tweet at Wilding, asking for him to “keep the faith.”

Regardless of whether you agree with her, you have to respect Allen’s candor. But with her next album Sheezus on the way, will Allen’s honesty negatively affect her sales? Or is she simply telling us that the best from the album is yet to come? We can only wait and see.

Sheezus is out May 5 via Regal Recordings.
