Allie X’s bombastic “Prime” is exactly what we need in what has been (so far at least) a CHVRCHES-less year. As a hint of what’s to come following her debut track “Catch,” it’s no-doubt immensely exciting. The skittish and shimmering “Prime” showcases a young artist already comfortably settled into to her gallant sound. Her songs thus far have really stuck out in the otherwise crowded synth pop soundscape, so let’s hope that she keeps this high level of quality up.
