Quiet since her 2011 release Past Life Martyred Saints, Erika M. Anderson, better known as EMA, has just released a new video for her latest track, “So Blonde.” Set to appear on her forthcoming album, The Future’s Void, the song is a grungy brand of rock, the type that should please the ears of fans of early Radiohead releases like The Bends.
Compounded with a Cali-slacker aesthetic defined by surfers, skaters, and sunlight (as well as a few XXX-rated GIFs), “So Blonde” comes off as a tasteful homage to the garage rockers and dropouts who made us all love the ’90s, but updates it with an internet age twist.
The Future’s Void will be released April 8 via Matador.
