Hodgy Beats is a good rapper in his own right, but as of late he’s drifted even further into the background of Odd Future. 2013 was a huge year for Earl Sweatshirt, and yet another incredibly successful one for Tyler, The Creator, which resulted in a lot of its other members failing to get their due. If Hodgy Beats’ “DLX” is any indication, he’s pretty determined to make sure that this doesn’t happen again. With its distanced Wasabi McGruff production (which is Left Brain under a different moniker), as well as Hodgy’s refusal to stick to just one flow, “DLX” is a strong reminder that Odd Future is deeper than Earl and Tyler.
