Despite the fact that he’s been in the industry for a couple of decades now, Rick Rubin seems to be ubiquitous now, ever since appearing on Jay Z’s couch. During a recent interview with Paul Rosenberg on the Hanukkah special of DJ Whoo Kid’s Shade 45 show, Rubin discussed Def Jam’s formative years, being a white hip-hop producer, and working on Eminem’s latest album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which is the first time Rubin’s produced hip-hop since “99 Problems.” Rosenberg also “presented” Rubin—who’s also dubbed as “Jew of the Year” by Rosenberg—with the “Lifetime Achievement Award for a Jew in Hip-Hop.” Mazel, Rick Rubin!
