Daniel Murphy, who designs album artwork for the labels Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar, and Secretly Canadian, recently shared a number of alternate but eventually unused covers that he worked on via his Instagram. These include art for Foxygen, Phosphorescent, Night Beds, Bleached, Gauntlet Hair, and most interestingly, Bon Iver‘s For Emma, Forever Ago. Murphy notes:

We generally go through 10 or 20 (or 30, or 40,) ideas to get to a finished cover, most of which are never seen.
