Tincture is the alias of 23 year-old classically-trained pianist turned electronic producer Luke Dalton. With new single “Tryst,” the young Australian makes his first foray as a full-on singer and songwriter, lending pleasantly breathy vocals to his skittering, evocative production, a well-mixed blend of influences that slots itself comfortably and creatively into the synth-pop landscape. As an introduction to a new talent, “Tryst” serves well, a glimpse of Tincture’s budding writing ability and style that doesn’t stun, but certainly intrigues, whetting the appetite for things to come.
