Grizzly Bear’s excellent 2012 album Shields is getting an extended reissue which will feature remixes, b-sides, and demos from the sessions leading up to the recording of the album. “Will Calls” is a seven minute mini-epic that has distinct sections, playing with a soft/loud dynamic, and staying totally engaging even through its extended length. For a lot of current guitar bands a song of this length would be indulgent and probably rather boring, but in Grizzly Bear’s hands, it works ever so well.
