Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings label is a reliable, expertly curated source of offbeat gems and experimentally minded music from the likes of Ghostpoet, Mala, and most recently Troumaca. Soon, the label will be releasing a new album by Southampton-based singer and producer Gang Colours, and his most recent single is as warm and absorbing a song as you’ll hear today. Seeming to luxuriate in its own slow pace and softly-spoken sadness, “Led By Example,” as well as the album’s title track “Invisible In Your City,” show that Gang Colours’ Will Ozanne appreciates the beauty that can come from a little bit of restraint.
