British singer Azekel continues to impress with more rich, heartfelt music, putting his own stamp on the hazy modern R&B style that is so popular at the moment. Mixing the timeless, smoky vocals of an old soul singer with sudden torrents of bass (most obviously during the brilliantly all-engulfing section around the three minute mark) and pitched down vocals, “Official ’07” is at once classic and cutting edge.
Azekel’s debut Circa EP is out October 28.
