MGMT announced earlier this year that their third album will be a self-titled release out on September 17, and in anticipation of that they’ve debuted the first video for “Your Life is a Lie.” The video is wacky and quick-paced, flipping through absurd image after absurd image. Directed by Tom Kuntz, who also directed the visuals for “Congratulations” off their second album of the same name, the song and the imagery feel like a natural progression for the electronic duo.
